Shooter Adriana Ruano wins first ever Olympic gold for Guatemala

Silvana Stanco of Italy won silver, Penny Smith of Australia won bronze

Adriana Ruano from Guatemala won gold in clay pigeon shooting trape on Olympics 2024.

The athlete broke 45 targets, setting a new Olympic record. Ruano’s gold was the first for Guatemala in the history of its participation in the Olympics. It should be noted that earlier another Guatemalan shooter, Jean-Pierre Cardenas, won bronze in this discipline among men.

Silvana Stanco of Italy won the silver medal, while Australian Penny Smith won the bronze.

The competition will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
