Swimmer Somov, who lives in the United States, admitted that he misses his dacha in Russia

Russian swimmer Evgeny Somov who lives and trains in the United States, said he misses his dacha in his native country.

On Thursday, Somov failed to qualify for the 50-meter freestyle at the Paris Olympics, posting the 44th fastest time in the preliminary heats (23.43). 16 athletes with the fastest times advanced to the semifinals.

“I have no problem returning to Russia and swimming, I haven’t been to Russia for a long time, I want to go there, see my parents, go to the bathhouse. It all depends on which direction I take.

— Are there public baths in America?

— There are bathhouses in San Francisco, you can go there too. But at the dacha you grill shish kebab. Everything is different! Fresh air! There are a lot of Russians in California – Morozov, Lobintsev. We go wake surfing to the lake. My best friend from the youth world championship, Gleb Karasev, also moved and lives 30 minutes from me. We all get together, go to the lake, rent a bathhouse on a trailer and take a steam bath. But at the dacha there is a different “atmosphere”, I spent my whole childhood there, “the correspondent reports, according to Somov’s words.

The games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11. All Russian athletes will compete in a neutral status.
