Moiseeva on “Match TV Kremlin Cup”: “A sports festival to promote diving”

Head coach of Russia’s diving team Svetlana Moiseeva believes ‘ Kremlin Cup’ has become a sporting feast, especially in a situation where national team leaders haven’t competed in Moscow since long time.

The competitions take place in the outdoor swimming pool. On the first day, Evgeny Kuznetsov won on the 3-meter springboard, Yulia Timoshinina won on the 10-meter platform.

“This tournament is a sports festival to popularize diving,” Moiseeva told . – The guys on the three-meter springboard walked according to their program – no one took anything away. But there is an open pool here, not everything worked out, of course, although we didn’t expect great results here.

– When was the last time you organized a big competition in Moscow?

– Stage of the World Series in 2013. The Kremlin Cup has already taken place, but the national team athletes had a different schedule for departures. So Moscow has not seen the performance of the national team for a long time. I think it’s a good event for the fans, even if it’s not with our best jumps.
