“I don’t follow the Summer Olympics,” Ovechkin was quoted as saying by TASS.
- See it for yourself. Russia has announced a boycott of the Paris Olympics.
The Summer Olympics in Paris started on July 26 and will end on August 11. Immediately after the start of the SVO in Ukraine, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) introduced sanctions against Russian and Belarusian athletes. On December 8, 2023, IOC President Thomas Bach announced that athletes from Russia and Belarus were allowed to participate in the Paris Games, but only with individual neutral status and subject to a number of conditions. As a result, Russian national teams in almost all sports refused to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games. The largest representation of Russians in the French capital in tennis is 7 athletes.
