Australia’s women’s team triumphs in the 4x200m freestyle relay final at the 2024 Olympics. The top three are the USA and China

The Australians also broke the Olympic record and fell just short of their own world record.

Australia Women’s Swimming Team won Olympic gold Paris 2024 in the relay final 4x200m freestyle.

The winning country in the relay was represented by Molly O’Callaghan, Lanie Pallister, Brianna Throssell and Ariarne Titmus. The combined result of 7:38.08 allowed the Australians to break the Olympic record, which had been held by China for the last three years (7:40.33). At the same time, the girls fell just short of the world record in this discipline (7:37:50), set a year ago by Australia.

The Chinese team took third place in today’s final. The US team took silver.

It should be noted that for Titmus and O’Callaghan, these are not the first gold medals of the 2024 Olympic Games. Earlier, Ariarne became the champion of Paris in 400-meter freestyle swimming, and Molly won the 200-meter swim, setting a new Olympic record. It is curious that Titmus’ achievement from the previous Olympics was broken.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine will be represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.

Ukraine won two medals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris — Sergey Kulish won silver in the 50-meter air rifle shooting competition, and Olga Harlan won a bronze medal in sabre fencing.
