Kulish will take to Ukraine not only the silver from the 2024 Olympics, but also a unique souvenir from the French artist Hugo Gattoni

Organizers of the 2024 Olympic Games have pleasantly surprised again

On Olympic Games in Paris the first official week is ending. Dozens of sets of awards have already been raffled off, hundreds of thousands of posts have been written regarding the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympics, A Ukraine managed to win two medals: silver – to the credit of Sergey Kulish, bronze – to Olga Kharlan. And besides the medals of the 2024 Games Ukrainians will also take home unique souvenirs – posters from the French artist Hugo Gattoni.

Gattoni’s paintings for medalists are a surprise from the 2024 Olympic organizers. The artist created the unique project alone over the course of six months, and the work took more than 2,000 hours.

Gattoni’s painting is a symbol of the 2024 Olympics, including the main cultural and sports facilities of the Games in France. It has everything – the parade at the Opening Ceremony on the Seine, various sports facilities, fireworks, tournaments, awards. The poster is of two types – night and day. The first, according to the organizers, is a tribute to the beauty of Parisian nights.

But the “artistic” part of the 2024 Olympics will not be limited to Gattoni’s work. The winners of the beach volleyball competitions will receive a reprint with an autograph from the British artist Peter Spence, who has been painting pictures of this sport for the third Olympics. Fortunately, at the 2024 Games, beach volleyball has the best location – the court near the Eiffel Tower.

Spence first “showed up” at the 2012 Olympics, where he got there by chance, responding to an offer from one of the employees of the Olympic Broadcasting Service, who was assessing the locations for filming from above and suggested that Peter create a joint project for the tournament. Plus, in London, the beach volleyball competitions were held in an interesting place – on Horse Guards Parade Ground.

Spence’s work was appreciated by the IOC and the International Olympic Committee invited the artist to the Olympics in Rio in 2016. Peter missed the 2020 Games in Tokyo due to Covid restrictions. In Paris, we think, he will make up for lost time.
