ARAF to pay additional 1 million rubles to Russian athletes who meet qualification standards for 2024 Olympics

Russian track and field athletes who this season show results not lower than the qualifying standards for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will receive an additional bonus of one million rubles from the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF), the organization’s website reports.

The decision on additional financial incentives for athletes was taken on Friday, August 2, within the ARAF Executive Committee.

— The Executive Committee of the All-Russian Athletics Federation approved the payment of additional prizes for the X stage of the Russian Championship “Queen of Sports” – PSB. Athletes who meet the qualification standards for the Paris Olympic Games will receive an additional bonus from ARAF in the amount of 1,000,000 rubles.

Athletes competing in the Russian all-around series receive an additional bonus of one million rubles for scoring 8,460 points or more in the men’s decathlon and 6,480 points or more in the women’s heptathlon.

Athletes participating in the “Russian Walkers” series receive 1 million rubles for the Russian record over a distance of 10,000 meters, presented in Yekaterinburg during the 10th stage of the Queen of Sports, ARAF said in a statement.

At the same time, all other payments, in accordance with the competition regulations, remain unchanged.

In April, ARAF announced that bonuses paid at the start of the summer season in Russia would be increased by 20% compared to last year.

Russian athletes have been suspended from international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
