Ukrainian midfielder Shakhov leaves Kazakhstan’s Tobol

Evgeniy spent his last year at the Kostanay club, having managed to fly out of the European Cups with it

Kazakhstani Tobol officially said goodbye to the Ukrainian midfielder Evgeniy Shakhovwho left the club upon expiration of his contract.

Evgeniy is 33 years old. Last summer he moved to Tobol from Luhansk Zorya. For the club from Kostanay, the Ukrainian played a total of 28 matches, scored two goals and gave two assists. He won the Cup and Super Cup of Kazakhstan.

During his career, Shakhov also played for Dnipro, Kyiv Arsenal, Greek PAOK and AEK, Italian Lecce. The midfielder also has 7 matches and one goal for the Ukrainian national team.

In July of this year, Yevhen, together with Tobol, managed to fly out of the Europa League qualification from Slovakian Ruzomberok (2:5, 1:0). The Ukrainian played 75 minutes in the first (lost) match, and remained on the bench in the second. He did not take to the field in the first match of the second round of the LC qualification against Swiss St. Gallen (1:4 away). In the return match, already without Shakhov, Tobol lost 0:1 and ended the European Cup season.
