Uganda’s Cheptegei set an Olympic record by winning gold in the 10,000m at the 2024 Games.

Athlete Joshua Cheptegei The Ugandan won the 10,000m gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Cheptegei covered the distance in 26 minutes 43.14 seconds and set an Olympic record. Ethiopia’s Berihu Aregawi took second place (26:43.44), while American Grant Fisher took bronze (26:43.46).

Cheptegei became a double Olympic champion; at the Tokyo Games he won in a distance half as long and also took second place in the 10,000m.

The Olympic Games in the French capital will last until August 11.
