The Spaniard may continue his career in Serie A
Fiorentina working on goalkeeper transfer David De Gea.
The Spaniard would like to sign a contract until the summer of 2026 with an annual salary of 2.5 million euros excluding bonuses. David’s move to Genoa had previously fallen through.
De Gea became a free agent a year ago, announcing his departure from Manchester United. At the same time, in the summer of 2023, two offers for the Spaniard from Saudi Arabia were reported, as well as interest from Bayern.
Later, in September, it became known that David might end his career if he does not receive an offer to become the main goalkeeper from a top club. In the winter, there were reports of interest in the goalkeeper from Newcastle and Barcelona, in March rumors linked De Gea with Real, but nothing came of it. This summer, Al-Shabab and another club from Saudi Arabia held talks with David De Gea.
The Spaniard was born in Madrid and began his career in his native Atletico. In 2011, he became a Manchester United player, where he played 12 seasons. De Gea also has 45 matches for the Spanish national team (2014-2020). In them, he conceded 36 goals, keeping 21 clean sheets. David was the main goalkeeper for the Red Fury at the 2016 European Championship and the 2018 World Cup.
Fiorentina finished eighth in the last championship and also reached the Conference League final. At the end of the season, the Violets parted ways with head coach Vincenzo Italiano, who left for Bologna (to replace Thiago Motta). His place was taken by former Monza coach Raffaele Palladino.
