Athletistic/OI-2024. French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his pride at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.
The event drew strong condemnation worldwide due to its provocative interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s painting The Last Supper. The opening ceremony was also condemned by many Western politicians.
Macron said: “The French are proud of the opening ceremony and we are also very proud of it. France showed its true colours with courage and artistic freedom.”
