Another unexpected story from the Paris Olympics

Team Great Britain won the team show jumping event ahead of the US and France. It was the first gold medal for the British in this sport since 2012. But for one British citizen, it was certainly one of the best experiences of his life.
In Paris, Ben Maher, Scott Brash and Harry Charles climbed to the top step of the podium. In London, Ben Maher, Scott Brash, Nick Skelton and Peter Charles won team show jumping gold. For Maher and Brash, the victory in Paris was the second Olympic gold, for Harry Charles – the first in his career and the second – family.
The thing is that Harry is the son of Peter Charles, who was 52 years old at the time of his triumph in London. And now 25-year-old Harry has climbed to the Olympic summit for the first time together with his father’s partners.
The team show jumping gold was Team GB’s second in equestrian sport. The British also won the team eventing.
At the Paris 2024 Games, as of 13:00 on Saturday 3 August, Great Britain had won 29 medals: 10 gold, 10 silver and nine bronze.
The Ukrainian team has won two medals so far and shares 40th place with Kosovo and Turkey. Olga Harlan won a bronze medal in sabre fencing. Sergey Kulish won silver in the 50-meter air rifle three-position event.
