The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed a two-year disqualification for French athlete Mehdi Frère, reports L’Equipe.
Frere was disqualified after three whereabouts violations, leaving the 27-year-old missing three doping tests in 12 months.
Frere initially received a two-year ban from World Athletics. The athlete then lodged an appeal with CAS.
The marathon runner will not be able to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, and Félix Bourg will take his place in the French team.
The 2024 Olympic Games will run from July 26 to August 11. The Games marathon is scheduled for August 10.
