Olympic champion Sherica Jackson has withdrawn from the 200-meter race at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
On Sunday, August 4, she was scheduled to take part in the third preliminary round, but did not show up on the track. In the start list, she is listed as “DNS”, meaning she did not start.
Earlier, three-time Olympic champion Shelley-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica missed her 100m semi-final at Saturday’s Games. As delegation leader Ian Kelly later reported, the 37-year-old withdrew due to an injury sustained in warm-ups.
Jackson, 30, is the 2020 Olympic champion in the 4x100m relay, a four-time world champion and has numerous silver and bronze medals from the Olympics and world championships. Earlier, Jackson also failed to reach the start of the 100 meters.
The Olympic Games in the French capital will end on August 11.
