Athletistic/OI-2024. German cyclist Nils Politt has shared an unpleasant incident that happened during a group race at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

During the race, Politt was forced to stop to go to the toilet. He then returned to the track and eventually finished in 70th place, almost 20 minutes behind the leader.

“I was in front and I still had good legs, but suddenly everything became more difficult. Because of the bends, the constant ups and downs, I couldn’t get any bottles at the refreshment station. I started to feel bad. I drank less water than usual and used gels a lot. At one point, I had stomach problems. It was extremely unpleasant. I felt bad, but I had no choice but to stop. This is the first time this has happened to me. I usually don’t have any problems at this level. I don’t know what happened. It’s a huge disappointment for me. We’re talking about the Olympic Games and I was in a good position,” the cyclist said, quoted by Le Parisien.
