Ukrainian Wins Bronze Medal in High Jump at 2024 Olympics
Ukrainian track and field athlete Irina Gerashchenko commented on her performance in the final Olympic Games 2024 By high jumpwhich earned her a bronze medal.
“I was confident that I could jump further. The first attempt at 1.98 meters was great, I just went out to do the jump. And only after that, when I realized that this could be a medal, I decided to add strength. The second and third attempts were normal, but already the kind that you can’t do.”
“Indeed, luck was on my side. We both came in third with a result of 1.95 m. These are not high results, but the stars aligned and everything worked out in my favor. I am very happy.”
Gerashchenko and Australian Eleanor Patterson won bronze – both cleared 1.95 m, but failed to clear 1.98 m in three attempts.
Ukrainian Wins Paris High Jump Gold Yaroslav Maguchikhdemonstrating a result of 2.00 m. Silver went to Australian Nicola Olislagers, who also cleared a height of 2.00 m, but on her third attempt.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
