Paraguayan athlete expelled from Olympic village for inappropriate behavior

Member of the Paraguayan swimming team Luana Alonso was expelled from the Olympic Village after allegedly creating an “inappropriate environment,” Marca reported.

The Paraguayan team asked the athlete to leave the village, refusing to allow him to stay until the end of the competition, which officially ends on Sunday, August 11.

A Paraguayan swimmer was expelled from the Olympic Village because she did not spend the night in her territory. The swimmer’s behavior was considered by the Paraguayan national team as “inappropriate and disruptive to the atmosphere within the team.”

Alonso failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the 100m butterfly. After competing at the Olympics, the 20-year-old announced his retirement.
