Athletistic/Others. State Duma deputy Dmitry Svishchev suggested in an interview with Match TV that the former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov could change gender, following modern trends established by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

On Monday, the press service of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported that the United States was preparing a series of publications on alleged doping violations in Russian sports, focusing particularly on sports where Russia is traditionally strong – rhythmic gymnastics, synchronized swimming and figure skating.

“There is nothing surprising in the planned attack by the United States, and Rodchenkov is once again at the center of events. We have not heard from him for a long time; it seems that he was involved in fabricated cases and espionage scenarios. This is complete nonsense! The Americans and Rodchenkov can come up with anything.

The United States needs to rethink itself. There are drugs that are banned worldwide but are legal in America. Some sports and leagues in the United States allow doping. Therapeutic exemptions are supported at the government level in countries like the United States, France, and Norway, even though these drugs are banned in most countries.

The Americans understand that Russian sports will soon return to the international arena, and that is why they are deliberately attacking our strongest sports. They know that without Russia, the development of rhythmic gymnastics, synchronized swimming and figure skating is impossible, and they are trying to delay the process of restoring Russian athletes.

— Do you think Rodchenkov is still alive?

— I do not exclude that Rodchenkov could have changed his gender. It is quite possible, given the current trends of the IOC. The last Olympics confirm this. Rodchenkov is already a follower of these trends, “Svishchev told Match TV.
