The previous Olympic record in this discipline also belonged to Miroslav, but in Tokyo, paradoxically, she was left without a medal.

Polish sportswoman on Olympic Games 2024 Alexandra Miroslav broke her own world record twice in one day sport climbing V speed climbing.

Today, August 5, in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, qualifying starts in women’s sport climbing for speed climbing took place.

Miroslav showed a triumphant result of 6.21 and 6.06 secondsthereby twice in a row improving the world record in this discipline (6.24), which she herself set in September 2023, thereby winning an Olympic license.

The previous Olympic record belonged to the same athlete. In Tokyo, where sport climbing debuted as an Olympic sport, Miroslav became the best in speed climbing with a time of 6.84 sec, but performed poorly in bouldering and lead climbing, which is why she was left without a medal in the overall results.

In Paris 2024, separate sets of awards will be contested among men and women – in speed and in biathlon (bouldering + lead climbing). For the first time in history, Ukraine will be represented at the Olympics by two climbers – Evgeniya Kazbekova in women’s biathlon and Yaroslav Tkach in men’s speed climbing.

The 2024 Olympic Games will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
