Ukrainian Saves Three Match Points in Match with Zeynep Sonmez
Ukrainian tennis player Anastasia Soboleva made it to the second round of the tournament WTA 125 V Hamburg.
In the first round match, Soboleva, who made it to the main draw of the tournament through the qualification, defeated Zeynep Sonmez from Turkey. The match lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes.
In the first set, Anastasia gave her opponent two games on her serve and lost 3:6. In the second set, the Ukrainian was losing 3:5, but showed character and returned to the game – 7:5.
In the decisive set, Soboleva failed to convert a match point on her opponent’s serve with the score 6:5. In the tie-break, the Ukrainian saved three match points from Sonmez and still won – 10:8.
In her next match, Soboleva will face Egypt’s Mayar Sherif, who received the first seed. Kateryna Beindl will also play in the second round of the tournament in Hamburg. The Ukrainian’s opponent is fourth seed Anna Bondar from Hungary.
