American Allman wins Olympic gold in discus throw for second straight time

Silver went to Chinese Bin, bronze to Croatian Elkasevich

American Valarie Allman became the winner Olympic Games 2024 V discus throw.

Allman, 29, won first place with a discus throw of 69.50m, making her the second consecutive Olympic champion. In 2021, she won gold in Tokyo with a throw of 68.98m.

The silver medalist of the 2024 Games was Feng Bin from China. Bronze went to Sandra Elkasiewicz from Croatia.

The Olympic record in discus throw, set at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, has not been broken again. 36 years ago, German Martina Hellmann threw the discus 72.30 meters. The world record belongs to German Gabriele Reinsch – 76.80 m. It was also set in 1988.
