Duplantis wins gold at 2024 Olympics in pole vault with world record

Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis won the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in a world record time.

Duplantis won with a height of 6.25 meters. The previous record was set by him in April 2024 at the Diamond League stage in the Chinese city of Xiamen – 6.24 m.

American Sam Kendricks won the silver medal at the Paris Olympics with a score of 5.95 metres; the top three was completed by Greece’s Emmanuel Karalis (5.90 m).

Duplantis became a double Olympic champion, having already won gold at the 2020 Games in Tokyo. The 24-year-old also has two outdoor world championship victories and two indoor world championship gold medals.
