Norwegian track and field athlete Jakub Ingebrigtsen failed to win a medal in the 1,500m at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On Tuesday, the 23-year-old Norwegian covered the distance in 3 minutes 28.24 seconds and finished fourth. The victory was taken by American Cole Hawker (3:27.65), who took the title of Olympic record holder from Ingebrigtsen. Second place was taken by Great Britain’s Josh Kerr (3:27.79), the top three was completed by American Yared Nugus (3:27.80).
Ingebrigtsen is the 2020 Olympic champion in the 1,500 meters, the 2022 and 2023 world champion in the 5,000 meters, a 6-time European outdoor champion and a 5-time European indoor champion.
The Olympic Games in the French capital will end on August 11.
