On January 29, 2024, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne (Switzerland) decided to disqualify Kamila Valieva for four years for violating anti-doping rules in preparation for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China). As a result, the 18-year-old skater lost all her titles won after December 21, 2021, including the gold medal of the 2022 Olympic Games in the team figure skating tournament.

On July 22, Valieva went on the ice for the first time after her disqualification. In the Sochi Olympic Park, Kamila took part in the ice show of Olympic champion Tatiana Navka “Ruslan and Lyudmila”.
