Dayana Yastremskaya withdrew from competition
Two Ukrainians played matches in the tournament WTA 1000 V Toronto (USA).
Lesya Tsurenko made it to the second round of the competition, defeating Bianca Andreescu in three sets in a strong-willed style. The match lasted two hours and one minute: after a crushing 0:6, Lesya took two sets in a row (6:3, 6:4).
And here Dayana Yastremskaya failed to finish the match against Taylor Townsend. The first set went to the American (6:3), and in the second set, with the score 3:1 in Townsend’s favor, Dayana withdrew from the match.
Tsurenko will play Anna Kalinska, who is playing under a neutral flag, in the next round. Marta Kostyuk and Elina Svitolina are also continuing to participate in the tournament: they are scheduled to meet in person in the second round.
