Four-time Olympic swimming champion Leon Marchand dedicated all the victories of the 2024 Games to a friend who is recovering from a serious injury.
At the Olympics in the French capital, Marchand, 22, won four gold medals in individual disciplines and bronze in the relay.
– It’s for you, my Zazie. Zazie Gardot is a girl I’ve known for a long time. Our families are very close. She fell off a horse over a year ago and was in a coma for over a month. She fought hard and is now almost back to normal. It’s incredible the kind of fight she leads every day, and that’s why I dedicate my victories to her,” Marchand said, as quoted by Le Figaro.
The Paris Olympics will end on August 11.
