Athletistic/Figure skating. Russian figure skaters have filed a complaint with the visiting committee of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after they were not invited to the medal ceremony of the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. The ceremony, which will feature figure skaters from the United States and Japan, will take place on August 7 in Paris.

Athletes from the Russian Olympic Committee team are demanding the ceremony be cancelled, arguing that the absence of the Games bronze medallists from the event is due to technical problems that violate their rights.

Earlier, the International Olympic Committee announced that Russian figure skaters would not receive bronze medals in Paris due to the suspension of the ROC and logistical difficulties. Alexander Gallyamov, Nikita Katsalapov, Mark Kondratyuk, Anastasia Mishina and Victoria Sinitsina expressed their disagreement with this decision, proposing in this case not to give the gold to the Americans and the silver to the Japanese.

Last week, CAS rejected an appeal by the Canadians to award them third place in the team event after the medals were redistributed due to the disqualification of Kamila Valieva. The bronze medals ultimately went to Team ROC.
