Tokyo Olympic 200m sprint champion De Grasse fails to qualify for final at Paris Olympics

Canadian Olympic 200m Champion Andre De Grasse failed to reach the final at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

According to the results of the semi-final races at a distance of 200 m, De Grasse achieved the tenth time (20.41 seconds). At the 2020 Games in Tokyo, De Grasse won Olympic gold in this discipline and at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, silver.

Eight of the top athletes have qualified for the final, including Paris Games 100m champion Noah Lyles of the United States. The men’s 200m final will take place on Thursday evening.

Earlier, the Canadian Olympic Committee revoked the accreditation of alleged harassment coach Rana Rader, who is De Grasse’s personal trainer. This comes after reports emerged that Rader sexually and emotionally harassed three athletes.

The Paris Olympics will end on August 11.
