Athletistic/Chess. Chess player Umaiganat Osmanova, who was the victim of an attempted mercury poisoning during a tournament in Dagestan, has admitted that she is in shock.

Earlier it was reported that a participant in the Dagestan championship, Amina Abakarova, had treated the table on which Osmanova played with mercury compounds.

“I feel bad. Mentally, I am in complete shock. My psychological state is at zero. Realizing that someone deliberately brought mercury into the hall before the start of the tour and acted in such a vile way is just terrible,” Osmanova said in an interview with SHOT.

She added: “We have been playing chess for a long time. I am 30, she is 40. I have been playing chess since I was 7 and we have met several times, played and competed.
