The women’s open water swimming competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris began as scheduled on Thursday, August 8.
According to the press service of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the decision to hold swimming was made after a daily morning meeting with the participation of representatives of the Games Organising Committee, the IOC and the International Swimming Federation.
The women’s 10 km open water swimming competition started at 8:30 Moscow time.
Previously, swimmers’ training in the Seine had been postponed due to the permissible level of enterococcus infection in the water being exceeded.
The Paris Olympics will end on August 11.
