Phelps said he was disappointed with the U.S. men’s swimming team’s performance at the 2024 Olympics.

American, twenty-three times Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps said he was disappointed with the results of the U.S. men’s team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

“I was very disappointed with the results of the American swimmers. Everything we’ve accomplished in the last few years… They’re catching up to us. I hope we can change that going into the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles,” Phelps, 39, was quoted as saying by the NY Post, citing USA Today.

U.S. swimmers have won two gold, four silver and three bronze medals at the 2024 Games, with Olympic swimming competition ending August 4. At previous Olympics, the U.S. men’s swimming team has won eight gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

The Paris Olympics will end on August 11.
