Ukrainian Tovkai wins fencing round of pentathlon competition at 2024 Olympics

Another Ukrainian pentathlete, Vladislav Chekan, took 26th place

Ukrainians Alexander Tovkai And Vladislav Chekan competed in the first round of the competition pentathlon on Olympics 2024.

The Olympic tournament began with fencing. Tovkai took first place in the tournament – ​​the Ukrainian won 24 out of 35 duels and earned 245 points.

Chekan won 15 matches. Vladislav finished the first round in 26th place, scoring 200 points.

The competition will continue on August 9. The semi-finals will feature the remaining events of the program plus an additional round in fencing. The finals are scheduled for August 10.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
