Indonesian Junyansyah wins 73kg weightlifting title at 2024 Olympics

Viraphon Vichuma of Thailand won silver, Bozhidar Andreev of Bulgaria won bronze

Indonesian Rizky Juniansiah became the champion in weightlifting in the category up to 73 kilograms Olympic Games 2024 in Paris.

Rizki lifted a barbell weighing 155 kilograms in the snatch. In the clean and jerk, the Indonesian managed to conquer 199 kilograms, setting a new Olympic record. In total, his result was 354 kilograms.

Viraphon Vichuma from Thailand won the silver medal. Bozhidar Andreev from Bulgaria won the bronze. It should be noted that two-time Olympic champion Shi Zhiyong, who confidently led after the snatch, failed to lift the declared weight in the clean and jerk, dropping out of the competition.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
