American athlete Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone won gold in the 400 meters hurdles in a world record time at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The American covered the distance in 50.37 seconds. McLaughlin-Levrone surpassed her own feat, set at the end of June and equal to 50.65 seconds. Second place was taken by her compatriot Anna Cockrell (51.87), third by the Dutch Femke Bol (52.15).
McLaughlin-Levrone became a three-time Olympic champion; at the Tokyo Games, the 25-year-old won the same distance and the 4x400m relay.
The Olympic Games in the French capital will end on August 11.
