Results of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris on August 8: all the medals of the day at the Olympic Games

On Thursday, August 8, 26 sets of medals were awarded for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Sharon van Rauwendaal of the Netherlands became the Olympic champion in the women’s 10km marathon swim. Australia’s Moishe Johnson took silver and Italy’s Ginevra Taddeucci rounded out the top three.

In sailing, Austrians Lara Wadlau and Lukas Mähr took first place in the mixed double dinghy discipline. Japanese Keiju Okada and Miho Yoshioka won silver, while Swedes Anton Dahlberg and Lovisa Karlsson took bronze. In the mixed double multihull event, Italians Ruggero Tita and Caterina Marianna Banti won gold. Argentinians Mateo Mahdalani and Eugenia Bosco showed the second result, Mika Wilkinson and Erica Dawson from New Zealand finished third. In the women’s kite discipline, British Eleanor Aldridge became Olympic champion. Frenchwoman Lorian Nolot took second place, while Dutchwoman Annelous Lammerts won bronze.

In men’s speed climbing, Indonesian Wedrick Leonardo became Olympic champion, China’s Wu Peng won silver and American Sam Watson took bronze, breaking his own world record in the small final.

The New Zealand team won the women’s 500m kayak foursome. The German team won silver, the Hungarians took bronze. The Germans won the men’s competition over the same distance, the Australians finished second and the Spanish took third place. In the men’s canoe double over a distance of 500m, the race was won by the Chinese Liu Hao and Ji Bowen, the Italians Carlo Tacchini and Gabriele Casadei won silver, the Spaniards Joan Anthony Moreno and Diego Dominguez took third place.

In the men’s weight category up to 73 kg, Indonesian Rizki Juniyasya became the Olympic champion. Thailand’s representative Virapon Vichuma took second place, and Bulgarian Bozhidar Dimitrov Andreev took bronze.

New Zealand’s Elless Andrews won the women’s track cycling event (keirin). Hetty van de Wouw from the Netherlands showed the second result, the British Emma Finacane finished third. Iranian Alireza Mokhmadipiani won silver, Dane Turpal-Ali Bisultanov and Ukrainian Zhan Belenyuk won bronze medals. In freestyle wrestling up to 53 kg, Japanese Akari Fujinami became the Olympic champion. Ecuadorian Lucia Yamilet Yepes Guzman won silver, Chinese Pan Qianyu and North Korean Che Hyo-kyung won bronze.

In field hockey, the Dutch men’s team became Olympic champions. The German team won silver and the Indian team bronze.

Botswana athlete Letsil Tebogo won the country’s first medal in history, becoming the Olympic champion in the 200m. American Kenneth Bednarek took second place, his compatriot Noah Lyles won bronze. In the women’s weight category up to 57 kg, Korean Kim Yu Jin won gold. Iranian Nahid Kiyanichandeh won the silver medal, while Bulgarian Alizadeh Kimia and Canadian Skylar Park won bronze.

In the boxing match of the men’s final under 51 kg, Uzbekistan’s Khasanboy Dusmatov became the Olympic champion. Frenchman Billal Bennama took second place, bronze medals went to Cape Verdean David de Pigny and Dominican Junior Alcántara Reyes. In the women’s final up to 54 kg, Chinese Chang Yuan won, Turkish Hatice Akbas came second. Bronze medals were won by Ban Chol Mi from the DPRK and Korean Im Ae Zhi.
