Angelopol – about his career: “I want and am ready to start all over again, but in a more meaningful way and avoiding scandals”

Figure skater Valery Angepol apologized to coach Natalya Linichuk and also spoke about his desire to rethink his life and continue his sports career without scandals.

Earlier it became known about the breakup of the Angelopol/Alexandra Shinkarenko duet. In January, the athletes began working together at the Evgeni Plushenko Academy, where Linichuk works with dancing couples.

Dear Natalya Vladimirovna, I apologize to you! During our cooperation, I very often went beyond the limits of what was permitted. And as an athlete, as a man, and as a person younger than you, I had absolutely no right to behave like this with you. And even more so, I should not have discussed and removed from the ice all the issues related to the training process.

Lately I have been trying to rethink my life. Throughout my sports career, my behavior has caused a lot of problems for people who have given me a lot. I can still be tough, categorical and unrestrained. The difference is that now I realize it myself. I am aware of it and I am working on it.

It is impossible to change what has already happened, but I am ready to work on myself. I believe that everything is possible in this world – if only there is a desire.

No matter how my sports career develops further, I no longer want to enter into conflicts, slam doors and run away from people and problems! I want and am ready to start all over again, but in a completely different way, with more meaning. Try to avoid scandals on and off the ice. Work consciously and achieve success with your work and results. Year after year, strive for great achievements in your team,” Angelopol wrote on his page on social networks.

Last August, it became known that Angelopol and Vasilisa Kaganovskaya were no longer skating together. Later, the skater said that it was her partner’s decision and the reason was the contract that Angelopol offered her to sign. In November, the athlete tried to team up with Arina Ushakova in Evgeni Plushenko’s group, but the duo also broke up.
