Lyles enters 200m at 2024 Olympics after recovering from Covid-19

Lyles tested positive for Covid-19 two days before the 200m final

American sprinter Noah Lyles went the distance 200 meters on Olympic Games 2024 after having had Covid-19.

The US Track and Field Federation reported this after the race. Lyles tested positive for Covid-19 two days before the final race, but Noah decided not to withdraw from the final.

Lyles won bronze in the 200m with a time of 19.70, behind Kenneth Bednarek and Letsile Tebogo. Lyles collapsed on the track after the finish and was only able to leave with the help of a gurney and doctors.

Let us recall that Noah Lyles won gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in the 100-meter dash, becoming the first sprinter from the United States since 2004 to win this distance at the Olympics.

Lyles is next on the US team’s 4×100 relay at the 2024 Paris Games, but it’s not yet known whether Noah will be able to start.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competition will feature 329 sets of medals in 32 sports.
