A German athlete was wheeled out of the stadium after winning silver at the 2024 Olympics.

German athlete Malaika Mihambo was only able to leave the stadium with the help of doctors after completing the long jump event at the 2024 Olympic Games, Le Parisien reports.

In the women’s competition, American Tara Davis-Woodhall won this type of program, with Mihambo coming second.

Mihambo was only able to leave the jump zone in a wheelchair and accompanied by doctors. She suffered an asthma attack after suffering from Covid-19.

Mihambo, 30, contracted the coronavirus two months ago and has not fully recovered and still suffers from complications related to the disease, including asthma.

The 2024 Olympic Games in France will end on August 11.
