Olympic Champion Tebogo: “I’m Not an Arrogant or Loud Person Like Lyles”

Botswana Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo has said he does not claim to be the “face” of athletics.

The 21-year-old athlete won gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in the 200 meters. He covered the distance in 19.46 seconds and brought his team the first Olympic gold medal in history.

“I don’t think I can be the face of athletics because I’m not an arrogant or loud person like Noah Lyles,” Tebogo told Le Parisien.

Lyles, who had already won the 100m, finished third in the 200m.

The Olympic Games in the French capital will end on August 11.
