Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe have played 348 matches for Real Madrid and the Portugal national team. Together they have won 12 trophies with the Blancos and two trophies with the Portugal national team (Euro 2016 and the Nations League in the 2018/19 season)

Pepe began his career at Maritimo. He then played for Porto, Real Madrid, Besiktas, and then returned to Porto, which became the last club in his professional career. Pepe played 141 matches for the Portugal national team.

At Euro 2024 in Germany, Pepe set two age records. The Portuguese became the oldest player to take to the field in the history of the European Championships, after which he set the mark of 41 years and 128 days as the oldest player in the playoffs of a major tournament.
