Athletistic / Figure skating. The Swiss Federal Supreme Court has not received any complaints from representatives of the Canadian Figure Skating Federation or the North American country’s NOC against the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to retain Russia’s bronze medal in the team figure skating tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China).
“To date, no appeal has been filed in this case with the Swiss Federal Court,” the court’s press service told TASS.
In July, CAS dismissed an appeal by Team Canada, the Canadian Figure Skating Federation and the country’s National Olympic Committee against the results of the team figure skating tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games announced in January 2024 by the International Skating Union (ISU). The only authority that can overrule CAS is the Swiss Federal Tribunal.

It should be noted that Canada has asked CAS to place the Russian team in fourth place in the team figure skating tournament and the Canadian team in third place. The Canadians believe that because of Kamila Valieva’s disqualification, the ISU should have awarded points differently for the women’s competitions in the team competition.
