A Ukrainian woman became the champion at a distance of 1000 m a day earlier
Ukrainian Ludmila Luzan won a second gold medal in World Cup 2022 in canoeing and kayaking, which takes place in Canada.
The Ukrainian won the 500 m canoe singles. Luzan was 0.87 seconds ahead of Canada’s Sophia Jensen. Chile’s Maria Maillard, who won bronze, was more than 2 seconds behind.
This is Luzan’s third medal at the tournament. Previously, Lyudmila became the world champion at a distance of 1000 meters, and also, together with Anastasia Chetverikova, won silver in canoe-deuce rowing at a distance of 500 meters.
In total, Ukrainians have 4 medals. Earlier, the bronze of the world championship in Halifax was won by a kayak-four (Oleg Kukharik, Dmitry Danilenko, Igor Trunov and Ivan Semikin) at a distance of 500 m.
