UPL debutant suffers second defeat at start of season
Vorskla confidently won away Left Bank in the second round match Ukrainian Premier League — 3:0.
Neither team scored in the first half. After the break, Vorskla took the lead: Artem Chelyadin took advantage of a mistake by goalkeeper Maksim Mekhaniv on the way out.
In the 68th minute, Nikolai Kovtalyuk scored the second goal for the Poltava team, finishing off a pass from Chelyadin. The final score of the match in stoppage time was set by Sergei Myakushko, completing an effective combination of his partners.
Vorskla rehabilitated itself after the defeat to Shakhtar (0:5) at the start of the UPL, having won its first victory in the championship. Debutant Left Bank has not yet scored any points.
In the next round, Vorskla will host Obolon on August 16. Left Bank will play Shakhtar on August 18.
