Earlier, canoeist Zakhar Petrov took 4th place in the 1000-meter swimming final. At the Olympic Games in France, the Russian Federation was represented by 15 athletes.
The Russians have only one silver medal.
“To repeatedly stay one step away from the medals, considering the single canoe, double canoe and Bladtseva, is a pity. We are happy for the tennis players, but this is a completely uninformative story in terms of medals, we had a small team. Let’s go – well done, we fought as they could, the competition is crazy,” Guberniev told Soviet Sport.
The games in Paris will last until August 11.
