Ukrainian Maria Povkh finished last in the consolation final
On Olympic Games 2024 a set of medals was awarded in single-handed canoeing among women at a distance 500 meters — the gold was won by a representative of New Zealand Lisa Carringtonsetting a new Olympic record.
Carrington completed the distance in 1:47.36. Silver went to Hungary’s Tamara Csipes, who finished in 1:48.44. Bronze went to Denmark’s Emma Jorgensen (1:49.76).
This was Carrington’s second gold medal in Paris, having triumphed yesterday in the women’s 500m canoe sculls with Alicia Hoskin.
Also in the consolation final C in the 500-meter canoe singles, Ukrainian Maria Povkh took part – she showed the last 8th result with a time of 2:00.94. As a result, Povkh took 24th place in this discipline at the 2024 Games in Paris.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competition will feature 329 sets of medals in 32 sports.
