Athletistic/OI-2024. The International Boxing Association (IBA) has expressed regret following Algerian Iman Khelif’s victory at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Khelif, 25, won the Olympic final, winning a unanimous decision over China’s Liu Yang. Khelif, who competed amid a gender-testing scandal, did not lose a single round throughout the tournament.

“The IBA stresses that competitions involving athletes who are not eligible to compete are dangerous and unfair to women boxers. It is unfortunate that the IOC is neglecting the safety of women boxers just to criticize the IBA due to personal grudges. Now that Khelif has won the final of the Paris Olympic Games, the IBA can only regret that our women boxers were not able to celebrate this victory,” the IBA’s official website states.
