Athletistic/OI-2024. Manizha Talash, a member of the refugee team, was disqualified from the Paris Olympics for posting a political message, which is prohibited by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), reports RMC Sport.

During her performance at the Olympic Breakthrough Tournament on Friday, Talash wore a cape that read “Free Afghan Women” in English.

The World DanceSport Federation announced Talash’s disqualification due to the political message on her clothing. Political slogans and statements are prohibited at Olympic sporting events.

Talash was born in Kabul and fled her home country for Spain in 2022.
