Osimhen has told Napoli management that he wants to leave the club this summer

Nigerian forward aims to change clubs

Sports Director Napoli Giovanni Manna reported that the team’s forward Victor Osimhen expressed a desire to leave the club during this transfer window.

“Osimhen has asked to leave. We are calm because we have players who can replace him in the best possible way. We do not want to damage the integrity of the team, we want to preserve it. So we will see what happens in the coming days.”

Yesterday Napoli beat Modena in the Italian Cup in a penalty shootout (0:0, 4:3 pen.) – Victor Osimhen was not in the squad for the match. Also, the Nigerian never took to the field for Napoli in pre-season friendly matches.

In December 2023, Napoli officially announced the extension of Osimhen’s contract. The Nigerian’s new agreement runs until June 30, 2026.

Osimhen is determined to stay in Europe and has rejected offers from Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli and is awaiting an offer from PSG, who had the forward on their shortlist.

Osimhen’s release clause is 130 million euros. Arsenal and Chelsea have previously shown interest in Victor, with the latter considering an exchange for Mikhail Mudrik.

Osimhen scored 17 goals and made four assists in 32 games for the Napoli team in the 2023/24 season.

Napoli will play their next match on August 18, when Antonio Conte’s team will play away against Verona in the opening round of Serie A.
