Brazilian police kill eight-time world champion in jiu-jitsu

Eight-time world champion in jiu-jitsu Leonardo Lo was shot dead in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. According to the publication G1, the killing took place during a concert in one of the nightclubs.

According to eyewitnesses, the athlete did not share anything with police officer Enrique Otavio Oliveira Veloso, who also came to the event.

Veloso grabbed the bottle from Law’s desk. The warrior in response knocked the man to the floor and held him for several hours, not allowing him to get up. They separated, and then Veloso stood up, pulled out a pistol and shot the athlete in the head.

The multiple world champion was immediately hospitalized, but they could not be saved. A few hours later, doctors declared him brain dead.

The offender fled the scene of the crime, he was placed on the wanted list. A few hours later, he surrendered to the police. He was arrested.

Remember that Leonardo Lo is 33 years old, and he is considered one of the most successful jiu-jitsu athletes of all time. The black belt has won the IBJJF World Championship eight times. In addition, he has five World Cup and four Pan American Games gold medals.
