Macron traditionally went up to the podium to read his closing speech. At that moment, in the broadcast, one could clearly hear how a disgruntled rumble was heard in the stadium, which turned into a loud whistle. Because of this behavior of the audience, Macron was unable to immediately begin his speech.

The second place went to the Chinese team, which was behind the Americans only in the total number of medals: 91 medals (40 gold, 27 silver, 24 bronze).
